Now unless you’ve been on a social media blackout you’ll can’t help but have noticed the Nordstrom anniversary sale. We’re now on the 10 day countdown till it’s all over but fear not there are still some amazing bargains to be had. I’ve highlighted my favourite items below so quick shop to it!
The key for me with sale shopping is to look for perfect trans-seasonal items. There’s no point in buying all the summer ‘must have’s if Summer is almost over. Instead look for great pieces that you can layer up or wear with warmer seperates when the weather starts to take a turn. Plus any staple wardrobe pieces like a camel coat, leopard print scarf and smart tailored jumpsuit are no brainers as these can be recycled year in year out. Of course sale shopping is also about buying a few crazy items that are such a good offer that well it would be rude not to! I love buying shoes in sales too and it’s always worth picking up a good pair of ankle boots as these are the perfect shoe to dress up/dress down anything as well as wearing from one season to the next.
AW17 is about feminine tailoring and celebrating our curves; so think belted and nipped in waists. There are a few pivotal items such as the fluted dress that’s a great day to night number as well as the sock boot. Colour palette wise 70s style – caramel, tobacco and oranges not to mention a beautiful forties dusky blue.
Since having my little girl it was meant to mean I save money as I’m not going out as much and pretty much just live in jeans and t-shirt combo’s but actually i’ve just started shopping for her. Baby stuff is too cute I can’t resist a good baby girl sale. I especially love the dressing gown set – a nice clean baby all ready for bed and snuggles, there’s nothing better!
I’m OBSESSED with beauty products and absolutely love it when I have something new to try. I don’t think i’ve managed to finish anything in my cabinet yet – still on the hunt for that magic pot of eternal youth serum! Sales are a great way to experiment with more expensive beauty products as you can often get smaller gift sizes on offer rather than having to fork out for a whole bottle which you may find you don’t get on with. I have very sensitive skin so have definitely learned from my mistakes and now any pricey products I tend to only pick up during sale times.
We’re currently in the process of totally gutting our flat and redoing everything so this is my lust list of what I can buy once everything’s done…finally! Just 4 years in the making. Stay tuned to alexie.co for the home interior story !
